Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The substance had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then located many other marked cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials say initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; officials are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the event," they stated.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the public for information.
A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism left him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
