It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the chance.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her newest gem.

Then best known as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven world titles have come from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fail again.

If this latest epic knock topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her key asset - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was on her way.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

But while she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have postponed plans to retire, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as captain.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
