Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Revealed
According to the authorized statement, "A strange meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of banned practices and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine group.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a striking moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Features
Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana in addition to several items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Content
This patch also adds the game's third free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
